I was raised in Englefeld Saskatchewan where my interest in music began at the age of 12. My Mother and I would sit on the steps which was a short distance from the town hall and listen to the music of a band playing for a wedding or cabaret. The bands played polkas and waltzes in those years and I dreamt of playing that music.  At age 13 I decided it was time to learn how to play the accordion. I had heard a selection on radio played by Frankie Yankovic. I knew I was hooked and had to get his record. By now I had convinced my folks to allow me to go to the hall and watch the musicians play, and from that and with some help from my Mother, began to pick up many of the tunes. At age 14 I formed a band called The Rhytha-Tones and our group began playing for Weddings and other events around the area. In 1964 I moved to Regina Saskatchewan and played with a group called the Shadows. Over the years I have played with numerous Bands and have entertained in different parts of the United States and Canada. I have always made playing the accordion a part of my daily life. Two of my greatest thrills were playing on stage with America’s Polka King, Frankie Yankovic and Canada’s Polka King, Walter Ostenak. These two gentleman have certainly been mentors to me.

After all these years I still love to play. The ACCORDIONAIRES is a 2 accordion ensemble for small gatherings . MUSICAL FRINEDS is a 3 piece band for medium size get togethers and POLKA BEAT is our full blown Polka Band.  Our radio show is going strong on 91.3 fm and we love to bang out the polka's on monday nights at 7 p.m. We are now in our 7th year on the air.

Polka music is happy music and it has the ability to make people smile and have good time.
